"Hell and Hope" is a feature program about the lives of Yazidi girls abducted by ISIS terrorists in 2014 from Sinjar province in Iraq. The militants raped, tortured and sold the girls several times while in captivity. Few girls risked their lives to escape, but some of those who succeeded were eventually able to settle in Germany, where they live and work today.

VOA Producer Amish Srivastava and Correspondent Dakhil Elias traveled to Germany to meet and record the girls personal stories.

VOA contributor Greta Van Susteren and a camera crew visited the Kutupalong refugee camp in Bangladesh to hear the?stories of murder and rape from the Rohingya Muslims evicted from Mynamar.

Although they're now "safe", the refugees were depressed, isolated, prevented from attending school or working, and targeted by extremists and traffickers. As the monsoon season hit, the crew saw a system struggling to keep up with the need for food, supplies, and medicines. But they also found stories of hope.
